About the Role
We are working with a well respected Foundation Trust based in the South of England, approximately 40 minutes by train from Central London.
The Acute Medicine department are looking to recruit two Acute Medicine SpR's for their team, with interviews to be held within the next 2 weeks.
The trust have some key areas of professional development listed below which make this position very attractive for potential applicants, the role also does not attract on calls, however, these can be made available if necessary:
Medical Education
The post encompasses management responsibility for the delivery and evaluation of professional teaching activity, training programmes, Continuing Professional Development activity, induction and skills training for junior doctors and specialty trainees.
Portfolio pathway- formerly CESR Program
Successful candidates will enter the Portfolio Pathway in Acute Medicine (3-5 years), which follows the current Acute Medicine training program. They will rotate through Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Elderly care, ITU and Acute Medicine. Candidates will be expected to attend regular CSER teaching courses, as well as Medical GIM teaching session for denary SpR that are provided by the trust.
The role is a Monday to Friday 0800-1700 position and does not include on calls, there is an opportunity to pick up additional shifts.
Successful candidates must meet the below essential criteria:
The trust is situated in a prime location just outside of London with excellent transport links and all the necessary amenities.

The Trust are looking for enthusiastic candidates who are looking to progress their careers, as such they are happy to offer opportunities to those who have prior NHS experience at middle grade level and looking to make the step up, with this they would be prepared to support the CESR/ Portfolio pathway.
An attractive part to these roles would be the offer of 2 Direct Clinical Care sessions in a Specialist interest of your choice, this would be discussed at offer stage and agreed prior to joining.
At present the provisional job plan consists of 8 DCC and 2 SPA, if a leadership role is offered a further 1 DCC will be converted to an SPA session for additional duties.
Weekly cover generally consists of:
Mon- Fri 08:30-16:30
Sat & Sun 08:30- 16:30 (Max 1:6 with time off in the week to maintain 10 PA job plan)
MSDEC late 1:7 17:00- 19:00
There are some key requirements for this role, please ensure you meet these before sending a CV:
GMC Registration
Previous NHS/ HSE experience at any level
Experience in a Senior position with management responsibilities
Post graduate qualification
The Trust are situated on the outskirts of Birmingham approximately 40 minutes by train or car, it is based in a beautiful area, they have some historical areas located nearby steeped in British history. There are all the necessary amenities, wide networks of schools and good transport links.
