About the Role

I am working with University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Clinical Oncology Consultant with a focus on Breast and Urological cancers on an NHS fixed term contract. This exciting opportunity involves providing exceptional care for patients within the University trust and across the wider region, with a chance to join a dynamic and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:
Breast and Urology Cancer Care:

  • Attend and contribute to the weekly UHS Breast MDT and Urology MDT meetings.
  • Plan and supervise radiotherapy and Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) for Breast and Urology cancer patients.
  • Conduct and supervise on-treatment review clinics.
  • Engage in Radiotherapy Peer Review meetings.
  • Participate actively in clinical trials management, recruitment, and execution.
Oligometastatic SABR Service:

A unique opportunity to join the emerging oligometastatic SABR (Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy) service, providing cutting-edge care for patients with limited metastatic disease.
Acute Oncology Service:
  • Provide clinical oncology input to the UHS inpatient Clinical Oncology and Acute Oncology services, managing emergency admissions with oncological symptoms and diagnoses.
  • Offer advice and support to the management of patients admitted through the Acute Oncology service.
  • Participate in post-take ward rounds and manage patients admitted via the Acute Oncology service.
  • Provide advice and manage emergency radiotherapy patients.
  • Participate in the on-call rota for out-of-hours Clinical Oncology patient care, including evening and weekend ward rounds (1:16).
About You:
The trust is looking for an experienced and motivated Clinical Oncologist with expertise in the management of Breast and Urological cancers. The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Full GMC registration and someone with good experience within the NHS and is looking to pursue CESR route.

I am currently working with a University Trust that is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Consultant in Acute Medicine to join its team within the Urgent and Emergency Care Division. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to make a significant impact on patient care by collaborating closely with the Head of Service for Acute Medicine and the Clinical Chair for Emergency Medicine and Acute Medicine. Position Overview: As a Consultant in Acute Medicine, you will play a key role in enhancing patient management across various units, including the Emergency Admission Unit (EAU), Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), and Short Stay Unit (SSU). You will have the opportunity to work within a well-supported team comprising of therapists, nursing staff, a frailty team, discharge team, pharmacy, and other support workers, ensuring comprehensive care delivery. Key Areas of Responsibility: Clinical Duties: Lead post-take and consultant ward rounds in EAU/SSU. Provide advice to GPs and offer consultant cover in the SDEC unit. Participate in weekend consultant cover and the General Internal Medicine (GIM) rota. Contribute to service improvements, enhancing collaboration between Acute Medicine and Emergency Medicine. Ensure seamless patient care through close work with the Emergency Department (ED) and other specialties. Support the training and development of medical trainees and clinical development fellows. Engage actively in audit, clinical governance, and professional development. On-Call Requirements: On-call availability is Category B, with a 1% intensity supplement. Weekend on-call duties are 1:13, including EAU/SSU cover weekends. Acute Medicine covers early takes (weekdays 08:00 - 16:00, weekends 08:00 - 17:00) and shares late takes with GIM consultants (11 per year). About the Acute Medicine Department: The Acute Medicine Service covers a wide range of units, including: EAU: 46 beds with 2 enhanced care bays. SSU: 48 beds. SDEC: 24 chairs and 1 trolley space. Discharge Lounge. The team provides outstanding support to all patients, and the department operates a single point of access system where all patients arriving at the front door are streamed in the ED to the appropriate area. The acute medical team handles approximately 50-60 admissions per day, many of which are processed through the Emergency Assessment Unit.

This is a fantastic chance to be part of a well-established team of 11 Acute Medical Consultants and contribute to the ongoing development of an innovative emergency care service. For this position NHS experience is essential for this position.   About the Role: The AMU Consultant will be responsible for delivering hands-on consultant services across both the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) pathways. Serving a population of 350,000, the AMU is located within a purpose-built, 54-bed unit, with an additional surge capacity and a short-stay area. The SDEC service is expanding, providing key services to meet the rising demand for emergency care, both from primary care and the emergency department. In addition, the AMU team is developing virtual acute care pathways, which will be further supported and expanded by this role. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct consultant services to the AMU, SDEC, and in-reach services to the emergency department and direct GP admissions. Undertake Post-Take Ward Rounds and manage the review of all non-specialty patients on AMU. Lead on medical handovers and collaborate with both specialist and emergency department consultants to enhance the management of medical emergencies and support ambulatory pathways. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled NHS Consultant Dermatologist to join the best performing dermatology service in Greater Manchester.
