About the Role
We are delighted to be working with a well respected University Hospital which is based in the Derbyshire area, who are looking to recruit a Specialty Doctor in Clinical Oncology.
The Oncology Department provides a comprehensive clinical, radiotherapy and chemotherapy service for the population of Derbyshire & Staffordshire (1,100,000 population). The full range of Oncology malignancies are treated at the Hospital.
Medical Education
The post encompasses management responsibility for the delivery and evaluation of professional teaching activity, training programmes, Continuing Professional Development activity, induction and skills training for junior doctors and specialty trainees.
Successful candidates must meet the below essential criteria:
• GMC Registration
• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
• Completed at least four years full time postgraduate training, at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme
As well as clinical commitments, the posts do carry teaching/learning opportunities and attendance at accredited learning events will be encouraged and funded by the Trust.

This post offers the opportunity for successful candidates to develop and learn a range of skills in a tertiary neonatal intensive care unit. The new state of the art Unit is in the purpose-built Women and Children’s Building. The successful candidate will be part of the clinical team and will take part in the Tier Two, second on-call rota.

Consultant in Paediatric Oncology
Hampshire

Kaizen Recruitment is delighted to offer an opportunity to join an established Hospital in the Hampshire area looking to appoint a Consultant in Paediatric Oncology.
We are looking for a colleague to join a team of 8 paediatric oncology/haematology consultants. The successful applicant will be involved in the care of children with all types of malignancy, but with primary responsibility for patients with solid tumours and leukaemia as well as those on early phase clinical trials. They will work closely with a strong multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist care for children with cancer across the region, including support from the 11 paediatric oncology shared care units across the region. They will be enthusiastic, highly motivated and help develop our paediatric oncology daycare and ambulatory service.
The post-holder will fully participate in the provision of a tertiary paediatric oncology service, including:
• Responsibility for the care of paediatric patients with a full range of malignant diagnoses, with primary responsibility for patients with solid and haematological malignancies
• Weekly solid tumour and leukaemia clinics
• Approximately 1 in 10 out of hours cover, to include both paediatric oncology and malignant haematology patients
• To help develop paediatric oncology day ward and ambulatory services
• To help run Paediatric ECMC early phase trials
• Liaison with other hospitals in the region to provide specialist advice and to ensure children receive timely and appropriate treatment
• In addition, the post holder is expected to engage with the Divisional and Hospital managerial teams to develop the service on an as and when basis

Locum Consultant Paediatrician
Herefordshire
£105,504 to £139,882 a year 10 PA's
Kaizen Recruitment is delighted to offer an opportunity to join an established Hospital in the Herefordshire area looking to appoint a Locum Consultant Paediatrician. A special interest in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine would be beneficial to the department however all special interests would be welcomed. The successful candidate will work alongside 14 consultant pediatricians as part of a welcoming and enthusiastic team providing care to the children and families of Herefordshire and the surrounding areas.
The department offers first class paediatric medicine within a supportive friendly team and delivers a comprehensive range of services. A good general paediatric and neonatal background is the priority and practical skills are essential.
The duties of the contract are as follows:
• To provide, with Consultant colleagues, general paediatric and neonatal services within The Trust for the prevention, diagnosis, and management of illness and the proper functioning of the department.
• To participate in the Consultant of the Week (CoW) (2.2 PA) and twilight (1.3 PA) rota. The Consultant of the Week is responsible for all the patients seen by the paediatric team for a consecutive period Monday – Thursday or Friday – Sunday, the week is split to provide better work-life balance. The Consultant of the Week will have no other routine commitments such as clinics. The twilight consultant works evening shifts Mondays - Fridays so that the CoW finishes their shift at 5.00pm.
• To participate in the resident 12 hour shift night rota (4 nights per 10 week cycle) (1.9 PA). There is a rest day provided directly before and after each night shift.
• To participate in the 1 in 10 non-resident on call rota (0.37 PA).
• To perform urgent (acute) Child Safeguarding Medicals when the concern is in the category of physical abuse. This cover is included in the Consultant of the Week and Twilight role and in exceptional circumstances may be provided on a night shift.
• To undertake outpatient clinics.
• The post holder undertakes to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
