Consultant in CAMHS Eating Disorders - 3 days a week

This role is 22.5 hours per week & requires participation in the second tier Consultant on-call rota. This post is for a 6 bed Tier 4 CAMHS Eating Disorders Service. This opportunity is for a Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist to join and established team caring for young people aged 12-18. This is a service that is committed to helping every person they support feel safe, happy & empowered, enabling them to live the best life possible. You will have Full-Time junior doctor support. You will need: GMC Specialist Registration with a Licence to Practice (Essential) either by CCT or CESR. Applicants due to gain Specialist Registration within 6 months are welcome to apply for this post. The successful applicant will be involved in the care of children with all types of malignancy, but with primary responsibility for patients with solid tumours and leukaemia as well as those on early phase clinical trials. They will work closely with a strong multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist care for children with cancer across the region, including support from the 11 paediatric oncology shared care units across the region. They will be enthusiastic, highly motivated and help develop our paediatric oncology daycare and ambulatory service. The successful candidate will work alongside 14 consultant pediatricians as part of a welcoming and enthusiastic team providing care to the children and families of Herefordshire and the surrounding areas. The department offers first class paediatric medicine within a supportive friendly team and delivers a comprehensive range of services. A good general paediatric and neonatal background is the priority and practical skills are essential.  The duties of the contract are as follows:    •    To provide, with Consultant colleagues, general paediatric and neonatal services within The Trust for the prevention, diagnosis, and management of illness and the proper functioning of the department.  •    To participate in the Consultant of the Week (CoW) (2.2 PA) and twilight (1.3 PA) rota. The Consultant of the Week is responsible for all the patients seen by the paediatric team for a consecutive period Monday – Thursday or Friday – Sunday, the week is split to provide better work-life balance. The Consultant of the Week will have no other routine commitments such as clinics. The twilight consultant works evening shifts Mondays - Fridays so that the CoW finishes their shift at 5.00pm.  •    To participate in the resident 12 hour shift night rota (4 nights per 10 week cycle) (1.9 PA). There is a rest day provided directly before and after each night shift.  •    To participate in the 1 in 10 non-resident on call rota (0.37 PA).  •    To perform urgent (acute) Child Safeguarding Medicals when the concern is in the category of physical abuse.
