We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Consultant in Medical Oncology to join the team in Somerset.
The delivery of cancer services within The Hospital is a core element of the Trust's clinical service strategy and thus there is commitment and enthusiasm from both the Executive and Core Cancer teams to review and improve the care the trust provides, this post is one such example.
Key Responsibilities:
To provide 3, site-specific oncological services.
Attend the multi-disciplinary team meetings for the sites covered.
To work collaboratively with colleagues across the county and wider Cancer Network in order to deliver an equitable and high quality service to all patients.
To provide, to a high standard, the full range of specialist diagnosis, treatment, and care to patients requiring oncology services as outlined in the proposed program.
To support the nursing team within the Douglas Macmillan Oncology Unit in order to provide a comprehensive outpatient (and outreach) chemotherapy service.
To develop the clinical trials portfolio across cancer services, working with the Research Unit within the organisation and as part of the research network.
Maintain own professional competence and personal development.
Be part of the Core Cancer Management Team, taking on specific duties as discussed and agreed, this may include such elements as Acute Oncology Lead.

Depth and breadth of clinical experience in 2 or more tumors.
Driving license or ability to travel between sites.

I am partnered with a District General Hospital based in Yorkshire on an NHS fixed term or a permanent contract.
My client can support a variety of special interests, however the most desirable are Oncology/Cross section, Chest & Cardiac, Nuclear Medicine & Non-vascular intervention.

The Medical Imaging Department is well equipped and provides a wide range of services. Skill mix is well established with Radiographers undertaking Plain Film, CT, and Ultrasound reporting. There are 2 1.5 Tesla MRI Scanners, 3 Multi-Slice Spiral CT scanners, a recently refurbished dedicated Interventional Suite, 10 Ultrasound machines and 2 SPECT/CT cameras. There is full RIS/PACS desktop integration with voice recognition and home workstations provided.
The hospital has associated teaching hospital status & is part of the radiology training scheme taking in specialty registrar rotations.
The on calls are currently 1:10, hopefully this will reduce with more Consultants adding to the team.

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Consultant in Medical Oncology to join the Breast & Other Tumour Site team in Kent. The successful candidate will have a significant role in breast cancer care and will join a dynamic team of medical and clinical oncologists. This position also provides the opportunity to contribute to clinical trials through our well-established oncology research department.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend Consultant-led outpatient clinics (both at the Centre and Peripheral Clinics), including associated administrative tasks and chemotherapy prescribing.
Supervise SHOs and ward patients.
Review patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as required by nursing or radiography staff.
Teach SHOs and medical students.
Participate in clinical governance and audit activities.

Geriatric Consultant

We are excited to be working alongside a well-established trust in West Somerset who are looking for a Geriatric Consultant to join their department on a fixed term or substantive contract.
The hospital has two further wards currently badged as ‘general medicine’, but they are aware that most patients on these wards are in fact frail older people who need specialist geriatric MDT care, the expansion plan will see one or more of these wards brought into the COOP fold, alongside improvement in subspecialties in line with the interests of successful applicants.
Most of the COOP consultants contribute to the general medical on-call rota, and they would expect any new appointees with qualification in General Internal Medicine to join this rota. However, they plan to move to a separate 7/7 frailty rota to which all geriatricians will be able to contribute.

• Consultants from overseas that have experience in Geriatric Medicine. CESR support can be provided.

The Gastroenterology team are a dedicated, motivated, forward thinking and a friendly team. They provide general and specialist services to their patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders, both benign and malignant, including irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, enteral/parenteral nutrition, Cog’s (complex gastrointestinal disorders) and hepatology services.
They have excellent endoscopy facilities which are all JAG accredited this includes a 3-room endoscopy suite at QHB and a 2-room endoscopy suite at SRP. They participate in the national bowel cancer screening programme across the Acute Hospitals.
